The Challenge
URB Games operates interactive city adventure games where teams explore Polish cities by solving puzzles and completing challenges on tablets. With active routes in 8 cities including Gdansk, Krakow, and Warsaw, the company needed a robust technical backbone to manage increasingly complex operations — from game content spanning dozens of locations per city to real-time coordination of multiple teams playing simultaneously.
Before engaging Atium, URB Games managed game content through a combination of static files and manual processes. Adding a new city route meant weeks of setup work, updating puzzle content required developer intervention, and there was no way to track team progress during live games. Corporate clients booking team-building events had to coordinate through email and phone calls, making the booking process slow and error-prone.
As URB Games expanded into new cities and saw growing demand from the corporate team-building market, it became clear they needed a scalable platform that could handle content management, live game orchestration, and event booking without requiring constant technical oversight.
Our Solution
Atium delivered the entire technical backbone for URB Games — applications, systems, and automation. The centerpiece is a custom content management system that allows the URB Games team to create, edit, and publish game routes across all 8 cities without writing any code. Each route consists of sequenced puzzles, riddles, and location-based challenges that can be independently managed and updated.
For live games, Atium built a real-time progress tracking system using WebSocket connections. Game masters can monitor every active team on a dashboard, seeing their current location, completed challenges, and elapsed time. This visibility allows for better customer support during games and provides valuable analytics on puzzle difficulty and player engagement patterns.
The corporate booking portal streamlines the entire event management workflow. Companies can browse available game formats, select dates, specify team sizes, and receive instant quotes. The system handles scheduling, sends confirmation emails, and generates pre-configured tablet setups for each event automatically.

Results
The new platform transformed URB Games from a manually-operated adventure game company into a scalable experience business. Content updates that previously took days now happen in minutes, allowing the team to keep game routes fresh and seasonal. The corporate booking portal significantly reduced administrative overhead and contributed to a measurable increase in repeat bookings, as corporate clients found it easy to organize follow-up events for different teams and departments.
